Giant grasshopper - KL, Malaysia

Found this grasshopper in our garden and it was HUGEEEEEE... at least 3 inches long. 

Five-legged grasshopper - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This poor fella looks like it's lost a limb....leaving it with only five legs. :(

Zebra grasshopper - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Zebra grasshopper is the name my kids gave this grasshopper, since it has stripes on its body resembling a zebra :P

Green translucent grasshopper - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

A tiny green translucent grasshopper with black spots on its body. The wee fella must have gotten wet in the rain.

Such a teeny wee thing... this grasshopper was less than 1.5cm in size but love that we were able to capture so much detail. Especially the fourth shot, we even managed to capture a micro bug on the back of the grasshopper :)

Here's to many more days of good macro photography. :)

Hey Little Green Grasshopper - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Insects do not like it when the weather is too dry. But after the rain, we always find lots of insects to photograph around our garden. We found this wee fella perched on a blade of grass dotted with tiny raindrops - makes a lovely photo don't you think?

Hop away, little green grasshopper...
